Recounting the merciless wrath of Breast Cancer

Bonang Motumi

The month of October is recognized nation-wide as Breast Cancer Awareness month and for Mabohlokoa Pebane of Mohale’s Hoek, the month makes her look back at the road she had to travel to call herself cancer-free today. She sits with FINITE magazine to narrate the pain she felt when her three year old baby boy could not bring himself to look at the scar on her right breast after her surgery. She also lets us in on how a disease that was supposed to break her, instead changed her life for the better.
