Twin sisters enter carpentry realm

Meet Thato Tšoeute and Lerato Tšoeute (now Mampiti Thamae), two young Basotho women breaking gender stereotypes as furniture makers. Aspiring to narrow the gender gap in the labour market, these twin sisters are ending poverty and the country’s high unemployment rate. They share their story of how they became carpenters, and their passion for supporting women to enter the trade thus contributing to improve quality of life mainly for their families and communities. Writes Phongwazana Sakachane.
