MONEY, THE CENTRE OF IT ALL!

TEXT MOKHESENG BUTI

Often in an attempt to rationalise and breath greater meaning into our lives, perhaps with an eagerness to appear as non-materialistic, we ignore the reality of what having or not having money is in our lives and frown upon people who might suggest that it ‘buys happiness’. Perhaps you’re reading this and agree that money does buy happiness yet you’ve engaged in arguments or conversations with people who might have suggested a conflicting perspective. Without giving the expression the contextual attention it deserves, the phrase ‘money buys happiness’ is often trodden upon and the people who express it are often made to feel shallow and attached to the material things of the world.
