TEXT DR. MUSOKE
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in elderly men. The lifetime risk is 1 in 18 men being affected according to Stats South Africa, compared to the UK where it represents 26% of all male cancers diagnosed and was responsible for 10,837 deaths recorded there in 2012.
Risk factors include getting older, family history of disease presence in father, brother or son, and inexplicably, the black men get it at younger ages and in them it grows faster!!
