The Anglican Church of Lesotho (ACL) made history on Sunday 19th September 2021 by electing Rev. Dr. Vicentia Refiloe Kgabe to lead the church as a Bishop.

In an interview with Finite Magazine, Vicar General of the Diocese of Lesotho Rev. Tanki  Mofana indicated that Bishop-Elect Rev. Canon Dr. Vicentia Refiloe Kgabe is the first female Bishop of the Diocese of Lesotho –  the third female Bishop at Provincial level and the fourth female Bishop in Africa to become the church’s Bishop.

“We are very delighted as the Diocese of Lesotho and we cannot wait to work harmoniously with her. We are just waiting for the date of Consecration,” Rev. Mofana added.

Rev. Dr. Vicentia is the current Rector and Principal of Transfiguration College in Eastern Cape South Africa. She will be assuming the Bishop’s office after Bishop David Mallane Taaso.
