On the 9th October 2021, a 19-year-old Keneuoe Talanyane from Khubetsoana was crowned Miss Teen Lesotho 2021 at Victoria Hotel.
When asked how she feels about being the reigning queen, Talanyane said that she feels honored that the crown has been bestowed upon her. Furthermore, she declares that it is an opportunity that she will use to assist teenagers with social issues such as depression, bullying, drug abuse, peer-pressure and academic problems.
Talanyane’s biggest dream is to own a modeling agency that mentors future queens. Also, she would like to establish or be part of initiatives that work towards social welfare and encourage teenagers at an early age to develop an entrepreneurial spirits so as to create job opportunities and lower unemployment in our country.
Talanyane revealed that she has participated in several pageants before Miss Teen Lesotho 2021. “In 2018, I participated in Miss Lesotho High School and attained 1st Princess title, later that year, I received Best Personality title in Miss Independence Lesotho. I also participated in Miss High Schools. Currently, I am running for Miss Culture Lesotho 2022. The major highlight is being Miss Teen Lesotho 2021 which I won on the 9th October 2021,” said Talanyane in an interview with Finite magazine.
Her advice to young people is to chase after their dreams head on. Pageants are good to mold personality, help boost confidence, grow self-love and improve thinking skills; therefore, she encourages her peers to enter them. “If you want to be a pageant girl, believe in yourself and have faith that you will achieve it, that’s all it takes,” concludes Talanyane.
